Mighty Small is the latest store to hit the mother city, stocking only ethically-produced children’s items. Founder Simone Borcherding is a mom herself and understands the need for an inspiring, convenient and child-friendly shopping experience.
Mighty Small – boasting a strong female team and with up to 99% of products created by women – has one main objective: strive to encourage well-meaning but time-pressed consumers to navigate away from the usual stores selling mass-produced imported items when looking for a gift to buy for little loved ones.
Opening on 27 October 2020, Simone has hand-picked the best creators as part of Mighty Small’s ever-evolving collection aimed at kids aged five years and under. The unique products are so well-crafted that they can be handed down for generations. Situated in the heart of Cape Town’s city bowl, the store will form part of a creative hub. With 120m2, there is ample floor and wall space to showcase products beautifully and strategically, while still allowing room to host small groups for weekly kiddies yoga classes, creative workshops and music therapy sessions all aimed at little ones.
“As a mom of two little ones, the future of our planet sits heavily on my heart. Mighty Small is a small but sincere step towards making our world a better place to hand down to our children – all the while having fun,” says Simone.
